the moments that take your breath away

Lily is starting to become her own person and her personality is coming out. She's developing really fast. She loves to stand and smiles all the time.

I just wanted to share what makes our world stop and what each parent looks forward to.

2 months

Lily is already 2 months and it is so hard to believe. Our little baby is growing so fast.

Lily also had to get her 2 month shots and the nurse put cute Dora bandaides on her.

meet lily

After all the weight gain, cravings, swelling, and complaining because I don't look good in clothes anymore, our little girl has arrived. Lily Ashlyn Baker was born October 29, 2009 at 7:01pm weighing 7lbs 7ozs and 20 3/4 in length.

I went in at 5am to be induced and was able to stand the contractions until 2:15 and then I decided to quit being a superwoman and get an epidural. It wasn't as bad as I thought and Daniel and I were able to get some rest before the big debut.

Here are some pictures of the big day...

belly cast

Daniel and I decided to cast my belly to remember how big it was and how precious and wonderful a pregnany belly is. It was fun but messy.

Here are a few pictures from our casting...

nursery

Here are a few pictures of the nursery. These were taken the beginning of September so we've done more decorating but once the nursery is completely finished, I'll update these photos.

For the theme, we used her name and did frogs.

LILY'S PAD

Lily's crib I love so much.

31 weeks

I haven't had a chance to upload the lastest baby bump picture but here is 31 weeks. Not much a difference except my belly is rounder.

36 weeks

Tuesday was 36 weeks and a doctor's appointment. Everything is still going well. She has turned and is ready for her big debut. The doctor still thinks Nov. 3 is her D-day but we'll see. It still hasn't hit me yet that we're about to have a baby but we're very excited.

I'll go back every Tuesday until it's time.

35 weeks

So yesterday was 35 weeks with only 5 more to go unless Lily decides she would like to come earlier. Daniel and I are getting very anxious and excited and so is the rest of the family. I have a visit next week and then I'll go every week after that until it's time.

I may post a belly picture but we'll see.

Wish us luck.

newspring church

When Daniel went to Clemson, he attended NewSpring in Anderson. When we were dating, we would sometimes go to Anderson for church. I fell in love with NewSpring. Perry Noble is very down to earth and real about preaching. NewSpring has put a campus in Columbia and we are very excited about it. For the past two Sundays, they have been having a soft launch to try and work out the kinks before the big day.

Well the big day has arrived. NewSpring Columbia campus is launching live this Sunday, the 27th at 9:15 and 11:15. The church is located at 7820 Broad River Rd in Irmo.

At NewSpring, we have live worship and praise music. When Perry is ready, we feed live from the Anderson campus as well as the other 2 campuses. NewSpring is very exciting and real and nothing is held back.

So come out Sunday and worship and celebrate with us. Check out the link to learn more about NewSpring.

lily ashlyn baker

On June 1, 2009, we went to the doctor to found out what we were having. At the first look, I told Daniel we have a boy but the lady said no, that was a finger, you're having a GIRL!!!!!! My jaw dropped and Daniel just sat in shock. He wanted a girl and I wanted a boy but we are very happy and excited for our arrival. This will be the 2nd girl on my side of the family and I know she's going to be spoiled.

mom's suprise

When Daniel and I found out we were expecting, we were very nervous. We told his parents, then my brother Brandon and then my mom. I waited to tell my mom last because I wasn't sure how she would take it. I told her that we wanted to come and eat dinner with her one night so she decided to cook and it was delicious. She got up and was doing something so Brandon went and got her little gift and she didn't realize until she read the mug what was going on. She cried and cried. Her little girl is having a little baby.

our little surprise

Around the beginning of February, I took a couple of pregnancy tests and all came up negative. On February 15, I woke up early Sunday morning and took a little test and it read PREGNANT. I ran into our room and woke Daniel up with the test in his face and he was shocked. We just sat there for a few minutes and looked at each other and then started smiling and joy just came over us. We were so excited. We wanted to wait but some of the best things in life come as surprises. We told Daniel's parents, my brother Brandon and my mom. Everyone was so estactic. Of course, I went to the doctor to make sure it was true and it was.
Some ultrasounds later, we found out that our baby will be due November 3rd.

our little family

Shadow has one eye now. She'll be 10 in December. I've had her since she was a puppy and she's like my child. She has an underbite which gives her more character.

Bella is sweet but only around certain people. I got her 3 years ago for Christmas as a rescue.

Sirius is our other rescue cat. This is when we first got him.

a little bit about d B b

So I'm at work just a tad bit bored and saw where a few people I know keep up a blog. I previewed their blog and found it interesting. So I'm going to try it out.

A little bit about d B b (daniel and brittny baker). We met in high school and dated for a bit. We stayed friends throughout high school but lost touch after Daniel graduated in 2002. He went to Clemson, graduated in 2007 and stayed around that area. I graduated in 2003 and went to USC-L, Winthrop then Midlands and finally graduated in 2009. I was on Facebook one day and saw Daniel's picture and decided to message him and see how he's been. He messaged me back and it started from there. I would drive to Greenville and he would come to Columbia. I knew I wanted to be with him soon after we started dating. My first visit to see him since 2002 was on October 31, 2007 when I drove to Greenville on a whim. He met me at Walgreens and as they say, the rest is history.

We got engaged May 14, 2008 at Holden Beach, NC and married December 6, 2008 at the Biltmore House.
